Garowe, March 05: The Media Association of Puntland (MAP) and the International Media Support (IMS) successfully organized a two-day Media and Judiciary Dialogue Forum in Bosaso on March 3rd and 4th, 2024.
The event brought together 25 participants from local media outlets and the judiciary, including prosecutors and judges from Bosaso.
The forum commenced with MAP Secretary General, Naima Musse Elmi, and the Head of the Bosaso First Level Court, Yasin Ahmed Abdi, setting the stage with their insightful remarks.
Throughout the event, discussions centered on local challenges concerning court media coverage. Participants shared valuable insights on issues such as accessing the courts, reporting on judicial proceedings, and ensuring transparency in legal coverage. The dialogue aimed to address these challenges collaboratively while upholding journalistic ethics and the integrity of legal processes.
The Media and Judiciary Dialogue Forum facilitated mutual understanding and cooperation between the media and the judiciary.
