Garowe 09 July: The Media Association of Puntland congratulates and welcomes the newly elected officials of the Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ).
The three day General Assembly conference was held at the Mogadishu’s Royal Palace Hotel from 27-30 June 2019, with the participation of 77-member delegates of Somali Journalists drawn from media outlets across Somalia including Puntland State of Somalia. The new flag bearers of the Somalia’s national umbrella of the media practitioners officialy elected to office are as follows;
- President: AbdadirAbdulkadirElmi
- Vice President: Muhidin Hassan Mohamed
- Second Vice President. Abdifatah Hassan Farah
- Secretary General: Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu.
MAP chair Mr. Mohamed Dahir Warsame through this statment would like to sincerely congratulate the newly elected and re-elected officials of the FESOJ and has joined the other Somali and International partners and promising to support and cooperate with the FESOJ officials while maintaining high-professional standards.
On behalf of MAP we would like to congratulate our brothers and Sisters for theira success in the FESOJ leadership elections, i call them to lead the Somali media in the most appropriate way while engaging in high ethical standards when executing thier duties. He added, ”MAP will be available to cooperate so long as it’s member’s interest and those of the Somali media are being respected, we expect the new leadership tooperate in a very fair and just manner accross thier responsibilities” Said Mohamed Dahir Warsame – MAP Chair.
